Biography

Susan Marie Weber grew up primarily in Albuquerque, New Mexico and attended University of New Mexico, where she majored in education. Susan Marie holds an Associate of Arts degree in Business from College of the Desert and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with focus on computers and operating systems, from California State University, San Bernardino.

Susan Marie has long been involved in the business community in the Coachella Valley. In 1972, she was co-owner of the Corvina Marina, a recreational business on the once-thriving Salton Sea (beverages, fishing pier, boat launch and slips).

For six years, she taught a class at College of the Desert, “Small Business Bookkeeping,” for business owners.

Since 1980, Susan Marie has provided her accounting services through her business, Management Essentials, for a variety of local companies such as architect firms, country clubs, development companies, nurseries, medical firms, individuals and government agencies. This has given her a wide experience in all aspects of the diversified businesses in the city

Susan Marie is also no stranger to Community involvement. Between 1987 and 1994, she was a Board Member of the Palm Desert High School Foundation. The purpose of the Foundation was to assist teachers in obtaining useful teaching aids not available under regular school funding. Susan Marie is a past board member of other organizations, such as: Soroptimists International, NAWBO, and Friends of the Indio Senior Center.

In 2000, Susan Marie was part of a committee that put together National Constitution Day, to educate the public, most specifically children, about our precious Constitution.

Susan Marie continues to be active in Toastmasters, Palm Desert Chamber of Commerce, and is currently a board member of Palm Desert Rotary Club. (2010 Rotarian of the Year)
